An Upland Farm Town at Bukidnon's Northern Edge

Baungon is a first-class municipality in northern Bukidnon with 39,151 residents (2024 census) spread across 16 barangays and about 328 km² of rolling upland. The Poblacion, Imbatug, is roughly 30 km from Cagayan de Oro, and the town's nearest neighbors are Libona, Talakag and Manolo Fortich. The economy is mostly farming: corn, cassava, banana, camote, fruit and vegetables, plus bamboo and abaca crafts. Milling is part of the picture too, with corn grits, rice and cassava starch among the local products. Baungon became a municipality under an executive order signed in October 1957, and it's home to Binukid, Higaonon and Cebuano-speaking communities. It's also known among nature lovers for the rediscovery of Rafflesia in Bukidnon. Most of the work I'd do here is for farmers' groups and cooperatives, mills and traders, schools, barangay offices, and small businesses that sell to buyers in the city. (source, PhilAtlas)

The Far End of Bukidnon, Still in Reach

I'll be honest: Baungon is one of the farthest Bukidnon towns from my Valencia City base, about 3 to 3.5 hours by road heading north through Malaybalay and Manolo Fortich. A same-day trip is possible for something urgent if we start early, but for Baungon I prefer to schedule on-site work a few days ahead and bundle it, so one visit covers the wiring, the hardware, and training your staff.

The good news is that most of the work doesn't need me in the room. Websites, databases, automations, and account security are all done remotely. You get updates on Messenger or Viber and a live staging link while I build, and many PC and network problems can be diagnosed over a screen-share before anyone travels.

Coverage Across Baungon

To plan visits, I group Baungon's 16 barangays into three working zones by size. These are my own groupings, not official municipal divisions.

Poblacion

Imbatug

Imbatug is the Poblacion and the largest barangay, home to about one in five Baungon residents (2020 census). This is where the municipal offices, schools, stores, and service businesses are. They mostly need websites, Google Maps listings, records and inventory databases, and a reliable office network. It's usually my first stop on a visit.

Commerce & Offices

Larger Barangays

Lingating, Liboran, Pualas, Salimbalan, San Vicente, Nicdao & Danatag

Seven barangays with roughly 2,400 to 4,700 residents each. This is where most of the farming households, farmers' groups, traders, and small mills are. They benefit most from delivery and member databases, payment summaries, report automation, and apps that run on a basic Android phone.

Farms, Mills & Co-ops

Upland Barangays

Mabuhay, Mabunga, Langaon, San Miguel, Balintad, Kalilangan, Buenavista & Lacolac

The smaller communities, each with about 500 to 1,600 residents. Barangay offices, schools, and farmer and craft groups here usually need simple, low-cost tools: offline-friendly records, a basic product or inquiry page, and help getting listed on Google Maps.

Baungon Service FAQ

Can you come on site to Baungon?

Yes. Baungon is in the far north of Bukidnon, about 3 to 3.5 hours by road from my Valencia City base. A same-day visit is possible for urgent problems if we start early, but most on-site work in Baungon is scheduled a few days ahead so one trip covers wiring, hardware, and staff training. Everything else, including websites, databases, and account security, I handle remotely.

Can you build an inventory or records system for a corn or cassava mill?

Yes. Mills that buy corn or cassava and sell grits, rice, or starch need to track deliveries, weights, moisture deductions, payments to farmers, stock, and sales. I can set up a simple database with an Android or PC front end, daily summaries, and automatic backups, replacing notebooks and loose spreadsheets.

Do you help farmers' cooperatives in Baungon with member and loan records?

Yes. I build member databases for share capital, loans, input advances, harvest deliveries, and running balances, with board-ready reports. The system can run on a basic office PC or phone and is set up with access controls, because member records are personal data under the Data Privacy Act.

Can you help a Baungon craft or farm business sell to buyers in Cagayan de Oro?

Yes. Baungon is only about 30 km from Cagayan de Oro, so a product catalog website, a Google Business Profile, and good product photos can put bamboo and abaca crafts, fruit, vegetables, or milled products in front of city buyers. I handle the website, the photos, and the local SEO.

Do you charge a travel fee for on-site visits to Baungon?

Remote work has no travel cost. On-site visits to Baungon include a travel fee, quoted upfront in PHP before scheduling. Because Baungon is next to Libona and near Talakag and Manolo Fortich, I can sometimes combine visits with other northern Bukidnon clients to share the cost.

How do you protect member, farmer, or customer data under the Data Privacy Act?

Systems are built with role-based access, encrypted connections, and tested backups, aligned with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173). Your organization stays responsible for its personal data, and I can help draft a privacy notice and a basic breach-response checklist. I'm a developer, not a lawyer, so legal questions should go to your counsel or the National Privacy Commission.
