Sumilao Coverage

A Farming Town on Bukidnon's Main Highway

Sumilao is a municipality in northern Bukidnon with 31,094 residents (2024 census) across 10 barangays and roughly 197 km² of land. The Sayre Highway runs through it, about 29 km north of Malaybalay and 62 km from Cagayan de Oro. The economy is mostly agriculture: rice, corn, and vegetables on family farms, large pineapple and banana plantations, piggery and breeder farms, plus small industries like broom making, ceramics, and hollow blocks. Kisolon, the largest barangay, is listed as the seat of government. Sumilao is also known nationally for the 2007 march of Higaonon farmers to Manila to win back their land under agrarian reform. Most of the work I'd do here is for cooperatives and farmer groups, growers and contractors, schools, resorts near Alalum Falls, and the shops and offices along the highway. (source, PhilAtlas)

One Highway From My Base to Your Door

From Valencia City, Sumilao is about 1.5 to 2 hours by road: up to Malaybalay, then north on the Sayre Highway past Impasugong. That makes same-day visits realistic. If your office network goes down or the only PC with the payroll file won't boot, message me in the morning and there's a good chance I can be there that afternoon.

Most work still happens remotely. Websites, databases, automations, and account security don't need me in your office. You get updates on Messenger or Viber and a live staging link while I build, and I save site visits for the hands-on jobs: wiring, hardware, and training your staff.

Coverage Across Sumilao

To plan visits, I group Sumilao's 10 barangays into three working zones. These are my own groupings, not official municipal divisions.

Town Center

Kisolon & Poblacion

Kisolon and Poblacion together hold more than half of Sumilao's people (2020 census). This is where the municipal offices, schools, stores, and highway businesses are. They mostly need websites, Google Maps listings, inventory and records databases, and a reliable office network. This is usually my first stop on a visit.

Commerce & Offices

Farm Barangays

San Vicente, Vista Villa, Puntian & San Roque

The next-largest communities, with family farms, cooperatives, and people working in the plantations and livestock farms. Groups here benefit most from member and delivery databases, attendance and payroll tools, report automation, and apps that run on a basic Android phone.

Agriculture & Co-ops

Outlying Barangays

Lupiagan, Licoan, Ocasion & Culasi

The smaller barangays, each with a few hundred to about a thousand residents. Barangay offices, farmer groups, and small resorts here usually need simple, low-cost tools: offline-friendly records, a basic inquiry page, and help getting listed on Google Maps.

Sumilao Service FAQ

Can you come on site to Sumilao the same day?

Often, yes. Sumilao is on the Sayre Highway north of Malaybalay, about 1.5 to 2 hours from my Valencia City base depending on traffic and weather. If you message me in the morning, a same-day visit is usually possible for urgent network, PC, or printer problems. Planned work like wiring or staff training is booked ahead so one trip covers everything.

Can you help an agrarian reform or farmers' cooperative in Sumilao manage its records?

Yes. I can set up a simple system for member lists, share capital, loans, farm input advances, harvest deliveries, and running balances, with board-ready reports and automatic backups. It can run on an Android phone or an office PC and replaces scattered notebooks and spreadsheets.

Do you build payroll or attendance tools for farm contractors and growers?

Yes. Contractors and growers who manage field workers can get a lightweight attendance and payroll tool with daily logs, rates per task, deductions, and printable payslips. Worker data is personal data under the Data Privacy Act, so access is limited to the people who need it.

Can you make a website for a resort or attraction near Alalum Falls or Mt. Palaopao?

Yes. I build fast, mobile-friendly sites with photos, rates, directions, and an inquiry or booking form, and I set up your Google Business Profile so travelers on the Sayre Highway can find you on Google Maps. I also shoot photos and video, so the visuals can be handled in the same visit.

Do you charge a travel fee for on-site visits to Sumilao?

Remote work has no travel cost. On-site visits to Sumilao include a travel fee, quoted upfront in PHP before scheduling. Since it's on the same highway as Malaybalay and Impasugong, I can sometimes combine visits with nearby clients to keep the cost down.

How do you protect member, worker, or customer data under the Data Privacy Act?

Systems are built with role-based access, encrypted connections, and tested backups, aligned with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173). Your organization stays responsible for its personal data, and I can help draft a privacy notice and a basic breach-response checklist. I'm a developer, not a lawyer, so legal questions should go to your counsel or the National Privacy Commission.
